Koricani

Workers from the Omarska mine were not only involved in the camp there, but also in other war crimes taking place in the Prijedor area, such as the Koricanski massacre on August 12, 1992, when over 200 men were shot and thrown down a cliff, but 12 survived the fall to tell their story.

The indictment against Darko Mrdja, for example, contains the bare details of the massacre, but the full story of what happened and how the 12 survived is horrific.

The idictment states that many of the victims came from Trnopolje camp, but many had already passed through Omarska and been sent to Trnopolje after interrogation, which is perhaps one reason why Mrdja and his colleagues were keen to liquidate them.
