Where and what is Omarska?

Omarksa is a small town in north-west Bosnia.

Before the war, Omarska was a predominantly Serb village in the mostly Bosniak Kozarac area, near to the mixed town of Prijedor. It is near to the iron ore mines of Omarksa/Ljubija, and before the war the mine was one of Bosnia's main facilities, supplying the steelworks at Zenica in Central Bosnia.
