What you can do here

Anbody is welcome to read the background to this story and let others know about our campaign for a decent memorial at Omarska. Please add your name (anonymously if you wish) to our petition archive 1 or say hello in our [guestbook] if you agree. The petition does not advocate any particular memorial 'solution', just some basic principles that the process should follow. You may also add your comments to any page.

Contributors can add their own sections and pages under the points of view section, and other users can comment on them. If you would like to contribute, please sign up here. By logging in you can also manage email alerts and RSS feeds, plus you will have a profile page on the site. You do not have to say who you really are, but others will tend to take your views more seriously if you do.

Editors help manage the site and can add and edit any page. If you are a survivor, if you lost someone in Omarska or were otherwise affected by the camp then email us here for a special login, regardless of whether or not you agree with us.

We want to represent the main arguments as honestly as possible, and will attempt to correct any inaccuracies reported to us. Openness and transparency are vital if a memorial is to succeed, and this process should not be rushed.

Editorial policy

Pages or comments you add will only be removed if they are offensive, engage in ad hominem attacks or are inappropriate in some way. Disagreement and debate, however, are not a problem. Other than that, please feel free to say what you want. Painful as it may be, we believe open debate is the best way forward on this issue.

Main points

WHAT: a place (actually a wiki) where those affected by the Omarska camp can share information and views about the what, why, how, when and where of the memorial project
WHY: help facilitate open, respectful debate about the Omarska Memorial Project; bring a degree of transparency to a process so far not led by survivors and families of the missing.
HOW: We do not know the answers - but the questions should be considered; and all those who should decide about a memorial must be allowed to play a role.
IZVINI: Mostly in English for now - you can help by creating or translating any pages you in Bosnian as you go along - thanks!
